Acc Realignment

UNC and Three ACC Rivals Seek Loopholes in Senate’s College Sports Bill

North Carolina, Florida State, Miami, and Clemson have formally requested Congress to modify the Protect College Sports Act (PCSA) to ease conference realignment restrictions. The schools oppose the bill’s current provisions, which cap power conferences at 20 members and mandate a three-year independent status for teams switching leagues. While the bill passed the Senate with bipartisan support, these institutions argue the rules unfairly penalize schools that have already negotiated exit terms. The request highlights a growing rift between the ACC and other power conferences, as the legislation moves to the House for further debate.
