New York state is offering free ISO certified eclipse glasses branded with the I Love NY logo at 30 locations throughout the state ahead of the Total Solar Eclipse on April 8. Residents can obtain up to two free pairs while supplies last to protect them from scams and unsafe viewers. The Adirondack region, including Lake Placid and Plattsburgh, will be within the 100-mile-long path of totality, with special events and celebrations planned. Officials are also urging drivers and hikers to take extra precautions during the celestial event.
