CBS Evening News Slumps as 60 Minutes Shakeup Roils Ratings
CBS Evening News slumped week over week to 3.787 million total viewers and 493,000 in the Adults 25-54 demo (down 6% and 19%), amid firings at 60 Minutes. ABC World News Tonight led the week with 7.824 million total viewers and 961,000 in the demo, while NBC Nightly News had 5.955 million and 800,000 in the demo. Year over year, CBS was up 5% in total viewers and 1% in the demo; World News Tonight up 11% and 9%; NBC up 4% in total viewers but down 4% in the demo. Overall, ratings were down across the board.
