Actor and Flight Instructor Killed in Hesperia Plane Crash Identified
Actor and flight instructor Guy Kapulnik, 46, and passenger Taylor Laska, 33, died when a single-engine Aeronca Champion crashed in a remote field near Hesperia, California, on September 24. The FAA and NTSB are investigating the incident, which occurred at 9:53 a.m. near Summit Valley Road and Telephone Canyon Road. Kapulnik, a Los Angeles resident and former Israeli military service member, had over 30 acting credits, including roles in 'Call of the Wild' and 'Lebanon.' His family described him as a 'man of action' who loved aviation and the sea. Laska, a Santa Monica resident, was identified by the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office. No cause for the crash has been released, and a memorial for Kapulnik is scheduled for Wednesday in Karmei Yosef, Israel.
