NYC Lottery Opens for 1,000 $50 World Cup Tickets for Residents
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani announced a partnership that will make 1,000 $50 World Cup tickets available to city residents via a lottery. The drawing opens at 10 a.m. Monday, with entries limited to one per day for six days and up to 50,000 entries per day. Tickets are non-transferable and winners must verify eligibility (ID, income or housing documents, etc.). Winners will be notified by June 3 and must pick up their tickets in person at a bus terminal, with the option to buy up to two tickets and receive free round-trip bus tickets. The tickets cover five group games and two knockout rounds in New York and New Jersey, as the Tri-State area hosts eight World Cup games including the final, while resale prices on the open market remain high.
