Patriots Legend Jon Morris Dies at 84, Ending Era of Franchise's First Pro Bowler
Jon Morris, the New England Patriots' first Pro Bowler and a seven-time league All-Star, has died at age 84. The franchise's earliest stars, Morris played 11 seasons for the team from 1964 to 1974, anchoring an offensive line that included future Hall of Famers Gino Cappelletti and Babe Parilli. He was inducted into the Patriots Hall of Fame in 2011, a honor he called the 'crowning achievement' of his career. Following his playing days, Morris served as a radio color commentator for the team from 1979 to 1987 and later provided analysis for NBC.
