Colorado Judge Narrows NCAA Fifth-Year Injunction, Keeps Transfer Rules Intact
Judge Charlotte Sweeney clarified that the injunction covers only a fifth season for Class of 2022 athletes who exhausted four years, and does not halt transfer rules or the House settlement; the age-based portion of the eligibility rule is not blocked, so players who were 20 or older at the start of their five-year window aren’t covered. Ghost transfer rules remain in effect, the NCAA plans an expedited appeal, and the age-based implementation begins this summer with 2027 recruits treated as age-based-only.
