Pats' Williams poised to seize bigger role as Brown sidelined
With A.J. Brown sidelined for at least four weeks, the Patriots are counting on Kyle Williams to step into a larger role. Williams stresses he’s more than just speed, but in the season opener he played 12 snaps and wasn’t targeted, while Mack Hollins absorbed more targets and snaps. The coaching notes suggest Williams could be integrated into a reworked receiving corps, with Vrabel expressing hope he can contribute and the team adjusting personnel and schemes to leverage his speed (and to balance the loss of Brown).
