Israel accused of assassinating Palestinian commander in Syria
Ali Ramzi al-Aswad, a commander in the Palestinian militant group Islamic Jihad, was assassinated in the Damascus countryside on Sunday. The Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad group, blamed Israel for the "cowardly assassination." Israel has not yet commented on the incident. The Islamic Jihad has warned of a "decisive response" to any further assassination attempts on its leaders. Israel has carried out hundreds of strikes on targets inside government-controlled parts of Syria in recent years.
