Tragic Algiers foster home fire kills children
Eleven people died and 19 were injured in a blaze at a foster care facility in Mohammadia, an eastern suburb of Algiers. Firefighters, with 10 engines and 16 ambulances at the scene, fought the fire starting around 03:30 local time, but the cause has not yet been disclosed. Children were among the dead, and authorities noted that ages were not released. President Tebboune expressed condolences and Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb visited hospitals.
