Family launches £10m allergy research prize in memory of Natasha Ednan-Laperouse
Natasha Ednan-Laperouse died in 2016 after a sesame-containing Pret baguette with sesame not listed on the packaging. Her parents launched Natasha's Prize, a £10m fund—the UK's largest for food allergy research—to accelerate prevention and treatment, with a focus on the first 1,000 days of life. The foundation helped drive a law requiring full ingredients and allergy labeling for foods made on premises. Scientists worldwide can apply; winners will be announced by 1 June 2027.
