Newgarden secures Indy 500 victory in 2023
Josef Newgarden won the Indianapolis 500 in a dramatic finish after three crashes in the last 16 laps. The American driver passed last year’s winner, Marcus Ericsson, in the final lap. The race saw 52 lead changes among 14 drivers. Newgarden celebrated by slipping through the fence to celebrate among the spectators before heading to victory lane for the traditional winner’s bottle of milk.
