Apple announced a multi-year deal with Broadcom valued at more than $30 billion to design and manufacture custom silicon components and wireless connectivity technologies for Apple devices, with more than 15 billion chips to be produced in the United States under Apple’s American Manufacturing Program and a $1.5 billion investment to modernize Broadcom’s Fort Collins, Colorado facilities, signaling a ramp-up in U.S. chip production.
