Texas Teen’s Flu Battle Ends in Amputations, Now Facing a New Hurdle
A 13-year-old Texas girl, Kaydin Baldwin, spent 117 days in the hospital as flu complications evolved into necrotizing pneumonia, leading to the amputation of both legs and her right arm to save her life. She’s now in inpatient rehabilitation working toward prosthetics, just after turning 14. Her family has launched a GoFundMe to raise money for a wheelchair-accessible van after their own vehicle broke down during recovery, drawing support from around the world.
