
Penguins forward Kuzmenko leaves team to mourn father killed in Siberian bear attack
Pittsburgh Penguins forward Andrei Kuzmenko has left the team to return to Russia after his father, Alexander, was killed by a bear during a fishing trip in southern Siberia. The 62-year-old hockey coach died from severe head injuries after being attacked in the Tuva Republic. Kuzmenko practiced with the team on Thursday before flying to Moscow, and he is expected to miss the NHL season opener on September 29. The Penguins organization has offered full support to the family during this time.
