iPhone 18 Pro’s Variable Aperture Offers Subtle but Real Gains in Depth of Field
The iPhone 18 Pro introduces a variable aperture on its main camera, offering a wider f/1.48 opening compared to the previous f/1.78. While the difference is less than one stop, it provides measurable improvements in background blur and low-light performance. The device also features a faster A20 Pro chip, longer battery life, and a smaller Dynamic Island capable of displaying three live activities.
