Apple's iPhone Duo sets the stage for foldable app experiences with 3 compatibility modes
Apple revealed how third-party iOS apps will adapt to the iPhone Duo’s foldable screen across iOS 27: a default mode for pre-iOS 27 apps, an enhanced default for apps updated to iOS 27, and a full-compatibility mode with iOS 27.1. The launch, expected in October, includes a developer tech talk explaining the workflow for optimizing apps for the foldable display.
