Cinerama Dome Reborn: Sony and Alamo Drafthouse Plan 2028 Hollywood Comeback
Sony Pictures Entertainment will revive Hollywood’s iconic Cinerama Dome, reopening the theater in 2028 after restoration, under a lease that also brings an adjacent 14-screen Alamo Drafthouse with dine-in service. The Dome will return with its historic 86-foot panoramic screen for repertory screenings, premieres and special events, while the connected complex will maintain 35mm capability and premium formats including 70mm; the Dome’s legacy will be honored and preserved by its owner, Decurion/Robertson Property Group, as Sony operates the venues.
