Stalker Kills Woman Outside Panera in Arden Arcade, Then Takes His Own Life
A 38-year-old woman, Shalini Thakur, was shot and killed by a man who had stalked her for months outside a Panera Bread in Arden Arcade; the suspect, 22-year-old Rohit Rohit, then killed himself during a Highway 50 standoff with deputies. Thakur had previously obtained a restraining order after reporting escalating stalking, and investigators say the stalker tracked her movements with an Apple AirTag and had entered her home in the past.
