Tech billionaire Huang backs Vanderbilt’s SF arts college revival as CCA winds down
Jensen Huang and his wife’s Huang Foundation commit a $75 million matching gift to establish the Jen-Hsun and Lori Huang College of Art, Architecture and Design at Vanderbilt’s San Francisco campus, replacing the California College of the Arts (which will close after 120 years). The gift, part of Huang’s ongoing support that now totals $97.5 million for CCA, includes undergrad and grad programs, archives digitization, fellowships, and connections to San Francisco’s culture and innovation scene, while prompting debate over tech philanthropy’s influence on the arts.
