Windrose's developers announced a six-month window for the next major expansion, Ashlands, following a minor patch that adds 40+ building pieces and over 50 QoL fixes. The game remains in early access, with hundreds of thousands of players online daily and more than a million copies sold, and the team promises more roadmap details in the coming months.
Windrose sold over 1 million copies and peaked at more than 200,000 concurrent players within two weeks of Early Access. Kraken Express says the first major content update will introduce a new Ashlands biome and broaden core gameplay, but the rollout is ambitious and likely at least six months away. A smaller patch is also in the works to fix connectivity, CPU/disk usage and overall performance, with more than 50 fixes and about 40 new building pieces included.
