Portland-area suspect arraigned on five-murder case tied to missing women
Jesse Calhoun was arraigned in Portland on five counts of second-degree murder and four counts of abuse of a corpse for the deaths of five women (including Ashley Real) whose bodies were found in Oregon and Washington in 2023. His defense pleaded not guilty, and a trial date has not yet been set. Relatives of the victims attended the arraignment; the case follows Calhoun’s earlier commutation for firefighting service, which Gov. Tina Kotek revoked in 2023 as the investigation progressed.
