Multiple Asteroid Threats: NASA Tracks Space Rocks Hurtling Towards Earth
NASA successfully carried out its first planetary defense test by deflecting an oncoming asteroid named Dimorphos. While no asteroid is expected to impact Earth for the next century, NASA continues to track asteroids for potential threats. Currently, Asteroid 2023 LN1, measuring approximately 200 feet wide, is approaching Earth at a speed of 20,847 kilometers per hour. Although it is not expected to hit the planet, its size and speed highlight the importance of planetary defense measures.
