SMCI to raise $7B to fuel AI server push
Super Micro Computer said it will raise about $7 billion through equity and equity-linked financing to fund components for its AI servers, aiming to fulfill roughly $39 billion in orders from more than 20 customers as AI infrastructure demand surges; the package includes about $3.75B in depositary shares and $1.25B in common stock sold to underwriters, plus up to $2B more via an at-the-market offering later; proceeds could also repay debt, bolster working capital, or fund capital expenditures, and the stock fell about 8% after hours.
