Sony Slashes OTA TV Guide Features on BRAVIA Sets From 2023–2025
Sony says BRAVIA TVs with Google TV will drop built‑in OTA (ATSC) TV guide features for free local channels (ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC) starting in late May 2026. The change affects 2023–2025 models: A95L (2023); XR70/XR80/XR90 (2024); XR80M2 and XR50 (2025). Expect missing program info, channel logos, and thumbnails in the guide, plus the Set Top Box menu being removed in favor of a simpler Control menu. Core streaming apps and picture quality remain, but users relying on antenna guides may need external tuners or separate schedule apps. Sony attributes the change to backend/data-feed optimizations as it prioritizes newer hardware.
