Day 2 prelims at the 2026 Junior Pan Pacs in Vancouver kicked off with Audrey Derivaux leading the girls’ 400 IM in 4:44.40 as the U.S. and Japan posted strong results and led the standings, while Japan’s Raito Numata clocked 4:14.76 to top the boys’ 400 IM. Luka Mijatovic dominated the 800 free en route to a night-1 highlight, and the morning also produced top seeds in the 100 free (girls: Jodie Mead 55.39; boys: Luka Mijatovic 49.38; with Americans Aria Grossenbach and Abi Burke pushing for two A-final spots) and 100 breast (Yusei Imaizumi 1:00.17). In the 50 back, Alyssa Sagle (28.74) and Gabi Brito (28.75) led the Americans into the final, after a swim-off determined the final A-final spot. Through Night 1, the U.S. held the medal lead with 25 total medals including 11 golds, while Japan had 8 golds, and the session featured four events for each gender, ending with the 50 back making its Junior Pan Pacs debut.
