"Get Ready for the Spectacular 'Ring of Fire' Eclipse: Where to Watch and How to Prepare"
Austin City Limits festival attendees will have the opportunity to witness an annular eclipse on October 14th during weekend two of the event. Although Austin is not in the path of totality, 88% of sunlight will be blocked out. It is important to note that looking directly at the sun during an annular eclipse can be dangerous and may cause eye damage. Special-purpose solar filters, such as eclipse glasses, should be used for safe viewing. The eclipse will coincide with performances by Miya Folick, Pony Bradshaw, Blackchyl, The Barton Hill Choir, and Goodnight, Texas. Additionally, Texas will experience a rare total solar eclipse on April 8th, 2024.
