Farewell to Pappagallo: Mike Preston Dies at 93
Mike Preston, the actor who portrayed settler leader Pappagallo in Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior and later appeared on Australian TV, died June 8 in Florida at age 93. Born Jack Davis, he began as a UK chart‑topping singer in the late 1950s before moving to Australia to pursue acting; his credits included Stoney (1969), Homicide, Bellbird, and eight other roles, with his last credit a 2002 video game voice. He is survived by his wife Josie and two daughters.
