Basallo's eighth-inning blast lifts Orioles past Royals 5-3
Adley Rutschman didn’t challenge a ball in the eighth that turned into a game-tying homer, but Samuel Basallo answered with a go-ahead, 105.9 mph homer in the bottom of the inning to lift the Orioles to a 5-3 win over the Royals. Brandon Young went seven strong innings and the bullpen closed it out with Kittredge earning the save as Baltimore started the series with a victory.
