A mother who cared for her daughter with a rare genetic disease has praised the BBC drama Best Interests for highlighting the importance of palliative care. Stephanie Nimmo, whose daughter Daisy Rose died in 2017, said the show had captured the reality of life for families like hers. She said the support of palliative care had enabled her to engage in difficult conversations about her daughter's end of life, and to focus on the quality of her life. Nimmo is a board trustee of the charity Together For Short Lives, which provides support for families.
