The corner of Ludlow and Rivington in New York City's Lower East Side has been officially renamed Beastie Boys Square, with Adam "Ad-Rock" Horovitz and Michael "Mike D" Diamond in attendance. After years of efforts, the New York City Council approved the name change, leading to a ceremony where Ad-Rock and Mike D expressed their gratitude to fans and council members. They also paid tribute to their late bandmate, Adam "MCA" Yauch. The renaming of the square is seen as a lasting legacy for future generations to discover and question the significance of the Beastie Boys.
