Swiss euthanasia firm chief dies on Mount Fuji climb
Bernhard Sutter, 58, head of Exit, Switzerland’s largest euthanasia firm, collapsed while climbing Mount Fuji with his son via the Fujinomiya route. He was revived briefly with a defibrillator but died at a local hospital; the cause of death has not been disclosed. Sutter had led Exit since 2015 and joined the firm in 2007. The mountain climb has already claimed a second fatality this hiking season, with about 200,000 people scaling Mount Fuji each year.
