Dolly Parton Tribute Sparks Two Classics Back to Theaters
AMC Theatres is reviving Dolly Parton’s classic films The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas (1982) and Steel Magnolias (1989) in her memory, screening at about 200 locations with discounted tickets from Aug. 28 through Sept. 2; Regal is running the same two films in Tennessee with all proceeds benefiting Parton’s Imagination Library, as a tribute following Parton’s death on Aug. 25.
