Nepal-Tibet border floods spark rescue push as casualties rise
Torrential floods and a mudslide along the Nepal-Tibet border have killed at least nine and left 384 tourists missing, damaging roads, bridges and hydroelectric projects. Rescue helicopters cannot reach some affected areas as waters run high, and authorities warn of heavy casualties while coordinating evacuations and cross-border relief; about 430MW of electricity supply is affected, equating to over 12% of Nepal’s hydro capacity.
