June Windows 11 patch spawns boot blues and BitLocker loops on select business PCs
Microsoft’s June 2026 Windows 11 update KB5094126, which patches about 200 security vulnerabilities, is causing boot failures, blue screens, and BitLocker recovery loops on some business PCs (notably HP EliteBook and Dell Precision) due to changes in Secure Boot and the EFI partition, with some reports of disrupted OneDrive/Word integration. Workarounds include disabling Secure Boot in BIOS/UEFI, having the BitLocker recovery key ready, and updating BIOS/UEFI firmware, then re-enabling Secure Boot after the update. Microsoft hasn’t issued an official statement yet.
