Ghost Bat Block 3: Internal AIM-120 Bays, Bigger Wings, and BLOS for Europe
Boeing revealed the MQ-28 Ghost Bat Block 3 at ILA Berlin, adding a 25% larger wing, increased thrust, and internal weapon bays that can house an AIM-120 AMRAAM or two SDBs, enabling higher payload while preserving low observability. The upgrade introduces beyond-line-of-sight control and SATCOM for extended range (over 2,000 nm), with Australia already fielding earlier blocks and Germany being courted by Rheinmetall for a 2029 procurement; first Block 3 aircraft expected next year as Europe’s CCA market heats up, while U.S. test flights at Point Mugu showcase maturity and export potential.
