Wreckage of F/V Mistress Found Near Block Island Wind Turbine After 7-Year Search
Green Oceans identified the wreckage of the F/V Mistress, a fishing boat that sank in January 2019, near a Block Island Wind Farm turbine. The discovery, located 92 feet underwater and 50 feet from turbine No. 1, potentially resolves a seven-year mystery involving the deaths of two fishermen. The organization confirmed the wreck through unique features like a custom net drum and is urging federal authorities to reopen the investigation to determine if a collision with the turbine caused the sinking.
