Raspberry Pi Pico DIY Centrifuge Enables At-Home Blood Processing
A maker built a fixed-angle centrifuge from a Raspberry Pi Pico, 3D-printed parts, and an A2212 brushless motor to separate T cells from blood for analysis. It includes safety features like an MPU-6050 vibration sensor to shut down on imbalance and an IR sensor to monitor rpm. The project is in development, with the first version spinning and tests planned using dyed water and glycerol before attempting real blood work.
