
Bob Pettit, NBA's First MVP and 11-Time All-Star, Dies at 93
Bob Pettit, the first player to win the NBA Most Valuable Player award, died on September 23 at age 93. A Hall of Famer and 11-time All-Star, he led the St. Louis Hawks to the 1958 championship and redefined the power forward position. He was the first to reach 20,000 career points and averaged 26.4 points and 16.2 rebounds per game.
