Driver evades police, drives into ocean with dogs in Los Angeles
A woman fleeing California Highway Patrol drove her car into the ocean near the Venice pier with two Boston terriers in the backseat, prompting a dramatic rescue operation by deputies and lifeguards. The driver, who had initially been pulled over for speeding, swam farther offshore after getting stuck in the waves, but was eventually taken into custody. The two dogs were rescued and placed into the care of animal control.
