Bowie crash: Israeli pilot and two trainees killed in training-flight wreck
Three men died when a single-engine Piper PA-28 Cherokee crashed in a Bowie, Maryland neighborhood during a training flight tied to the Washington International Flight Academy. The pilot, Yoav Bomrind, 26, of Israel, and passengers David Rabinovich, 19, Israel, and Elad Naidik, 20, Canada, were killed. The flight was en route from Ocean City, New Jersey to Montgomery County Airpark when it went down near Scarlet Oaks Terrace. The NTSB is investigating, examining wreckage, air-traffic control communications, radar data, witnesses, and aircraft records. Residents heard a loud boom and reported a quick, eerie silence after the crash.
