Ellar Coltrane, who spent 12 years filming Boyhood as Mason Evans Jr., says he's moved on from acting, doing manual labor in El Paso, Texas, volunteering as a firefighter and pursuing an EMT license, and living "in the middle of nowhere"—while remaining open to small, independent projects with the right director.
