Original Mason-Dixon Survey Map Set for Auction in North Carolina
The original hand-drawn survey of the Mason-Dixon Line, a document pivotal to American history, is being auctioned by Brunk Auctions in Asheville, North Carolina. The map, which settled a colonial border dispute but later symbolized the divide between free and slave states, is estimated to sell for between $800,000 and $1.2 million. It was previously owned by the Forbes family and the Library of Congress declined to bid due to budget constraints.
