Paramount+ has ordered a new animated series, 'Avatar Kuruk: Wave of Chaos,' and renewed 'Avatar: Seven Havens' for two additional seasons. The announcements were made at New York Comic-Con, marking a significant expansion of the Avatar franchise on the streaming platform.
The co-creator of Avatar: The Last Airbender, Bryan Konietzko, teamed up with martial arts expert Sifu Kisu to develop the show's distinct bending styles, drawing inspiration from real martial arts disciplines to create unique fighting techniques for each bending nation. Kisu's expertise in various martial arts helped shape the fluid fight choreography and action language of the series, making the bending movements feel more real and rooted in tradition. Despite not being involved in the new Netflix series, Kisu's influence on the franchise remains enduring, as Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra continue to be popular streaming choices.
