Arrest in deadly Temple hit-and-run linked to prior child-rape case
48-year-old Derek Reid was arrested by U.S. Marshals in connection with the fatal hit-and-run that killed Temple University student Bryce Wolfe, who was dragged by an SUV for about a mile along Kelly Drive. Reid also faces charges from a 2021 rape and sexual assault of a juvenile and is a suspect in a separate June 24 fatal hit-and-run; bail is set at $750,000 for each case, with a court date on August 17. Investigators tracked him after surveillance across West Oak Lane and nearby areas, finally arresting him as he was mowing a lawn.
