Great White scratched from Kentucky Derby after bucking and flipping at gate
Great White, a 1,365-pound gray gelding trained by John Ennis, was scratched from the 152nd Kentucky Derby moments before post time after bucking and rearing as he was led to the starting gate at Churchill Downs, tossing jockey Alex Achard. The late scratch came as the horse had joined the field earlier in the week as a replacement for Silent Tactic, reducing the Derby field from 19 to 18.
