Nationwide recall issued for Target Up & Up baby wipes over Burkholderia contamination
The FDA announced a recall of Target’s Up & Up fragrance-free baby wipes due to contamination with Burkholderia cepacia complex and Burkholderia gladioli, which can cause serious infections, especially in newborns and immunocompromised individuals. The affected products include specific Up & Up wipe counts and UPCs with manufacturing and expiration date ranges. Consumers who own the items should stop using them and return them to Target for a full refund. Target noted consumer complaints about discoloration and irritation linked to the product.
