Cal Neva Revival: Lake Tahoe Proper to Open in 2027
The historic Cal Neva Resort on the California–Nevada border is being redeveloped into the Lake Tahoe Proper Resort and Casino with a $298 million financing package, adding 197 rooms plus a casino, spa, restaurants and a restored theater, and is slated to reopen in 2027 under Realberry and Proper Hospitality, aiming to honor its Hollywood glamour while updating the landmark for today’s travelers.
