MSU Overcomes Slow Start to Beat Eastern Michigan 35-7, Hints at Future Challenges
Michigan State defeated Eastern Michigan 35-7 on Saturday, September 12, at Spartan Stadium, securing a 2-0 start under new head coach Pat Fitzgerald. While the Spartans dominated the second half, their first-half performance raised concerns about consistency. The team recorded 258 rushing yards, a program high since 2022, and 472 total yards, their best since 2024. Running back Cam Edwards had 21 carries for 152 yards and two touchdowns, including a 40-yard gain after a fumble. The Spartans' next opponent is No. 4 Notre Dame.
