Minnesota Prosecutors File Felony Charges Against O’Keefe and Higby Over Polling Place Stunt
Hennepin County prosecutors charged conservative activist James O’Keefe and influencer Cam Higby with felony identity theft and unlawful voting. The charges stem from an August 2026 primary election stunt where the pair used hidden cameras and disguises to misrepresent their identities to poll workers in Minneapolis. Prosecutors allege they used the names of registered voters without permission, including deceased individuals, while testing the state’s vouching system. Neither man is currently in custody, but each faces up to five years in prison and fines of up to $10,000 per count.
